In 1984, we managed to set up our own genetic pattern, with more than 2,000 matching results, so we decided to create a preserve covering the entire area that we considered to be one of the few niches decontaminated or at least slightly injured in Spain to date, fact we encourage you to create what is now COTO SANTA MARTA.
In 1974 we initiated a study on the partridge native to the area, based on demographic, behavioral and morphometric measurements.

DRIVEN PARTRIDGE HUNTS

A type of small game hunting for red-legged partridge, where beaters drive the birds towards a line of hunters. It requires precise organisation, the use of screens, and allows for sustainable control through the final counting of catches.

ROUGH SHOOTING

The hunter scours the terrain with pointing dogs that locate hidden game. It is an active and direct method, ideal for partridge and rabbit, which promotes hunting control and contact with nature.
